The “Game Tourist” is a series of virtual art galleries with pictures captured while playing video games.
It visualises and documents not only the aesthetic beauty of gameworlds and their events but also describes a certain type of player who wanders the gameworld like a flaneur and takes pleasure in the art of video game photography. In a mixture between participating in the events, observing them from afar, and documenting her experience , the game tourist is more than a voyeur of virtual gameworlds but takes pleasure in the aesthetic experience the act of photography entails.
The “Game Tourist” series aims to describe the manifold experience of the game tourist and, of course, to capture exhilarating moments of play in artistic depictions of the gameworld.
